Enticed by an advert singing the praises of the sumptuous Marigold Hotel for senior citizens, a number of British pensioners leave for India, where they hope to live out a peaceful retirement. Welcomed by a very young hotel manager, they undergo a complete culture shock as they discover a series of peculiar customs and a unique way of life, which has a lot of surprises in store for them. The adventure is only just beginning.
