A Brighton, la mélancolique Isle, de l’ex-RDA, travaille dans une pâtisserie tenue par une Bulgare nostalgique. Frank, un Écossais d’une nature joyeuse, est aide-soignant pour des adultes atteints de troubles psychologiques. En apparence, tout les sépare, mais se noue entre eux une amitié qui prend une tournure qu’ils n’avaient pas envisagée.

Ilse is a witty, artistically-inclined, melancholic young woman originally from East Germany who works in a bakery owned by a nostalgic Bulgarian lady. Frank is a good-natured young Scot who works as a carer for adults with special needs. Although they seem to have nothing in common, their friendship will grow into something they didn’t expect.
