Ils paieront le prix fort pour avoir osé mettre sur pied une organisation syndicale. Ils sont aujourd’hui connus sous le nom des « Martyrs de Tolpuddle ».

In 1834, in the village of Tolpuddle, a group of six Dorset farm workers are shamelessly exploited by their rich landlord. One day they decide to form one of the first trade unions in an attempt to win a fair wage for a fair day’s work. They call a strike and are arrested and sentenced to be transported to Australia for seven years; they are known today as the Tolpuddle Martyrs.
