Coggie est un ado de 14 ans vivant avec sa mère et sa sœur dans un petit appartement de la banlieue de Liverpool. Il passe le plus clair de son temps avec ses deux copains, Macca et Steve. Ce dernier, agressif et tête brûlée, a de plus en plus d’influence sur eux et les entraîne dans des jeux violents. Coggie se pose des questions : doit-il suivre la bande et répondre aux provocations de Steve ou écouter sa famille et rester dans le droit chemin ? Ce premier long métrage mêle avec habileté réalisme et poésie. Un début prometteur pour le réalisateur, qui a fait appel à des jeunes acteurs très doués.
Gagnant du Meilleur Film au Van d’Or en 2012 et à Milan (I’ve Seen Films).

Coggie is a 14 year-old teenager who lives with his mother and sister in a small flat on the outskirts of Liverpool. He spends most of his spare time with his two friends, Macca and Steve. The latter, aggressive and hot-headed, has an increasing influence on the other boys and makes them take part in violent games. Coggie begins to question himself: should he give in to Steve’s taunting and follow the pack or listen to his family and stay on the straight and narrow? This director’s first feature length film skilfully mixes social realism and poetic vision. A promising start for the director, who has revealed some highly talented young actors.
