Journalistes sportifs fans de Test Cricket, une forme de cricket de plus en plus menacée, Jarrod Kimber et Sam Collins décident de faire un film pour comprendre les raisons de cette menace. Mais cet hommage à un « gentleman en train de mourir » devient un documentaire d’investigation. Au fur et à mesure de leur enquête, les journalistes découvrent la mainmise de quelques pays, dont la Grande-Bretagne et l’Inde, sur le monde du cricket. Corruption, monopoles, inégalités, conflits d’intérêt sont autant d’éléments évoqués ici, qui résonnent avec l’actualité sportive internationale.
Jarrod Kimber and Sam Collins are two sports journalists who are fans of Test Cricket. Yet this type of cricket, where matches go on for five days, is coming more and more under threat, and so the two men decide to make a film to understand why this is the case. But their homage to a ‘gentleman who is dying’ quickly turns into an investigative documentary as they discover that a few nations, including Great Britain and India, essentially control the cricket world. Corruption, monopolies, inequality and conflicts of interest are some of the themes at the heart of this documentary that paints a telling picture of the current state of international sport.
