“The Drummer and the Keeper is a beautiful ode to friendship. It is about a story between two very different people, who would never have thought that they could like each other. The director of the film makes us travel in a sweet and turbulent atmosphere.”
« The Drummer and the Keeper est une magnifique ode à l’amitié. Il s’agit d’une histoire entre deux personnes très différentes, qui n’auraient jamais pensé s’apprécier. Le réalisateur nous fait voyager dans une douce et turbulente atmosphère. »

“In The Drummer and the Keeper, it all starts with Gabriel’s bare buttocks. Gabriel ? He is bipolar. He loves to set things on fire, fall asleep anywere… Ah ! And he has hallucinations. Between his crazy acts and his football therapy, Gabriel is part of a rock band. He is the Drummer.
At football, Gabriel meets Christopher, the Keeper, an autistic young man. Christopher doesn’t like physical contact. That’s OK! Gabriel doesn’t like people. So together, they will form a nice team.”
« Dans The Drummer and the Keeper, tout commence avec les fesses de Gabriel. Gabriel ? Il est bipolaire. Il aime mettre le feu, s’endort à peu près partout… Ah ! Et il a des hallucinations. Entre ses crises de folie et sa thérapie par le foot, Gabriel fait partie d’un groupe de rock. Il est le batteur.
Au foot, Gabriel rencontre Christopher, le gardien, un jeune homme autiste. Christopher n’aime pas le contact physique. Pas de problème ! Gabriel n’aime pas les gens. Ensemble, ils vont donc former une belle équipe. »

« D’un côté une atmosphère sombre, et de l’autre un élan d’optimisme et d’humour. Quel est le lien entre ces deux descriptions ? L’amitié et l’amour. L’amitié peut tout changer même le pire chez quelqu’un, l’amitié est réelle quand on peut pardonner son ami parce qu’on l’aime. Gabriel et Christopher, émouvants et vulnérables, se battent contre la maladie pour s’en sortir et vivre la vie qu’ils veulent mener. Ce film est un drame plein d’humour : les petites obsessions de Christopher nous agacent mais nous touchent profondément. »

“One of the films competing for the Univerciné British Film Festival moved me a lot. I’m talking about The Drummer and the Keeper. The story told by the director of this film is about two young men living in completely different worlds. Despite two different personalities, these two young people create a strong friendship. The story of this film may seem trivial, but you have to go and see it to realize how amazing it is. I’m talking about this one because it’s my favorite. But I advise you to discover the other selected films because they will also touch you and surprise you.”
« Un des films en compétition pour le Festival Univerciné Britannique m’a beaucoup émue : The Drummer and the Keeper. L’histoire racontée par le réalisateur de ce film parle de deux jeunes hommes qui évoluent dans des mondes complètement différents. Malgré leurs particularités, ces deux jeunes gens tissent une forte amitié. L’histoire de ce film peut sembler anodine, mais il faut aller le voir : il vous étonnera ! Je parle de celui-ci parce que c’est mon préféré. Mais je vous conseille de découvrir les autres films sélectionnés car ils vous toucheront et vous surprendront aussi. »
